PHILOSOPHY

Contemporary Sound understands sound as a portrayal of the action that created it. A collection of ciphers moving as waves through the air, which attest to a one-time configuration of forces.

The sequence, structure and form of sound are used by Contemporary Sound to create possibilities for expressing the active, performative quality of contemporary art.

EXPERTISE

Contemporary Sound's expertise lies in working with artists to develop precisely the right music, sound or noise for their projects, whether video, film, performance, video-sculpture, sound installation, radio drama or recording for vinyl and digital release.

REFERENCES

Contemporary Sound has created sound for and with artists exhibiting at the Tate Modern London, Kunsthaus Bregenz, I: Project Space Beijing, Gropius Bau Berlin, M HKA Antwerp, Schaustelle der Pinakothek der Moderne München as well as at the Biennale de Lyon, Berlinale and Sharjah Biennial.
